We are recruiting to fill the following positions below;

1.) Community, Accountability, and Reporting Mechanism (CARM) Coordinator

Location: Borno

Knowledge and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience focused on community accountability and or program management
  • Substantial background in development/humanitarian programming including experience in developing and conducting training, and advocacy.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to represent the organization and negotiate and defend Mercy Corps’ interests with a diverse range of international and local organizations and other groups professionally and appropriately
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, prioritization, and strong computer skills.
  • Previous experience working on US government-funded and EU-funded programs is strongly preferred.

Success Factors:

  • A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively with team members of varied work styles and cultures, follow procedures, and meet deadlines with flexibility and creativity in planning and problem-solving.
  • S/he will have a proven ability to learn quickly, multi-task, prioritize, take the initiative, be accountable for results, understand the larger picture while remaining focused on the details, problem-solve, work within a complex and sensitive setting, and follow laws and security protocols.
  • The most successful Mercy Corps team members are strongly committed to teamwork and accountability, thrive in evolving and changing environments, and prioritize effective written and verbal communication in all situations.
  • The position is based in Maiduguri, Borno and it requires up to 2 0% travel to support programs in different states in Nigeria.

2.) ICT and Software Development Assistant

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Knowledge and Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Front-End Developer with a focus on React.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Redux and Context.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration of front-end applications with back-end services.
  • Knowledge of build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, npm).
  • Good understanding of version control systems, especially Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong understanding of Graphic Design and UI / UX tools.
  • Basic understanding of ICT principles, hardware, and software systems.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.

Success Factors:

  • The ideal candidate will have strong planning and organizing skills. S/he will be an excellent communicator, and multi-tasker, and able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • S/he will be a tolerant and flexible individual able to work in difficult and stressful environments and follow procedures.
  • The successful candidate will be a dedicated and patient individual with good interpersonal skills and maintain a sense of humor.

Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions:

  • The position is based in Abuja with the possibility of traveling to project locations. Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours.
  • Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs, and MC’s policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all locations.

3.) Senior Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Officer

Location: Borno

Knowledge and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience focused on GEDSI/ Gender mainstreaming in an NGO.
  • Substantial background in development/humanitarian programming including experience in developing and conducting GEDSI training, and advocacy. Previous experience in GALS methodology is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to represent the organization and negotiate and defend Mercy Corps’ interests with a diverse range of international and local organizations and other groups professionally and appropriately
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, prioritization, and strong computer skills.
  • Previous experience working on US government and EU-funded programs is strongly preferred.
