Job Description
- As a CNC Operator at African Steel Mill, you will be an integral part of the Rolling Mill Operations team, reporting to the Shift In-charge or Supervisor of the Roll Shop.
- Your role will involve operating CNC machines to perform various tasks related to roll pass cutting, machining, and maintenance in alignment with technical specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Roll Pass Cutting for Mill Rolls and other Machining as per drawing
- Understanding of Technical Parameters of the Machining Job and Machine Capacity
- CNC Programming and Data Entering of different types of Pass Profiles
- To prepare RIB Cutting and Branding in the Finishing Mill Rolls.
- To Operate general purpose machines in Roll Shop
- To carry out Periodical checking of Machineries and Equipment’s of Roll Shop.
- To carry out routine maintenance jobs of the Roll Shop Machineries.
- To provide technical support to the superiors in investigation and resolution of problem areas.

2.) Electrical Shift In-charge – Old SMS

Job Description
- As a Shift In-Charge (Electrical) in the Steel Melting Shop’s old side, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all electrical maintenance operations during your shift.
- You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and minimizing downtime due to breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for electrical maintenance of shift operations.
- To maintain the Control /Power/Magnet Panels of the EOT Cranes.
- To check and rectify any kind of problems related to Control circuit.
- Will check and maintain the Protection Systems of the EOT Cranes.
- Should be able to check/test the Slipring Motors and take necessary actions during any breakdown.
- To maintain/troubleshoot the Drives/Micro PLC/Field Sensors of the Pollution Systems.
- To maintain/troubleshoot the Hydraulic Pokers /Panels at the Control Room/Melting Floor.
- To Program/Maintain/Troubleshoot the Drive Panels of Doghouse systems.

- To check and find out the fault of the PLC of Continuous Caster and rectify the same.

- As a Mechanical Fitter specialized in induction furnaces and EOT cranes at African Steel Mills, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of critical equipment in the steel manufacturing process.
