1.) Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager – Economic Empowerment

Location: Abuja

Requirements
Knowledge (education and related experience):

Essential:

  • Educated to a Master’s level in a relevant field.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as  Disability Studies, International Development / Relations, Public Health, Education or Gender Studies would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of the international development/not-for-profit sector specifically systems strengthening and working in partnership with government.
  • Project management certification (or equivalent work experience)
  • Understanding and knowledge of adaptive management and corresponding MEL approaches.
  • Demonstrable experience producing a range of polished written products in English for technical and general audiences.
  • Experience in developing research protocols and conforming to ethical approval processes.
  • Experience in procuring and managing evaluation consultants.
  • Use of inclusive data, especially disability data
  • Working knowledge and experience of participatory planning, evaluating and monitoring approaches.
  • Demonstrable understanding and responding to the complexities of working across multiple countries and continents in an international development organisation and consortium.
  • Experience in managing monitoring, evaluation and learning for a multi-country programme.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in disability inclusion programmes.
  • Experience of using the Washington Group questions.
  • Experience in developmental evaluation.
  • Experience of managing staff remotely.
  • Experience of training needs analysis and delivering engaging and outcome focused training or coaching.

Skills (special training or competence):

  • Excellent technical skills in monitoring, evaluation and learning. For example, developing theories of change, designing MEL plans, writing logframes, managing oversight processes, sharing evidence and communicating learning.
  • Strategic thinker
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English
  • Ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with the big picture.

  • Effective communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products and online tools for a virtual environment such as Miro, Google Sheets, Power Bi
  • Experience using qualitative, for example Nvivo, and quantitative statistical packages an asset

3.) Regional Stories and Media Lead, WARO

Location: Nigeria

Jobholder Entry Requirements
The essential knowledge, skills and behaviours required Knowledge (Education & Related Experience):

  • Proven experience of sourcing and documenting emotive, contributor led stories
  • Proven experience of managing photography and video documentation projects
  • Proven track record of building strong internal networks and maintaining relationships and communications across teams and borders
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering communications and content strategies
  • Proven experience of working in a policy or campaigns focussed media role
  • Excellent knowledge of national and international media and social media
  • Ability to sell international/development stories to the consumer, national and international media
  • The ability to work with internal and external stakeholders and create an understanding of how media and PR can contribute to the delivery of organisational objectives.
  • Understanding and demonstration of ethical content and safeguarding best practice
  • Excellent time management
  • Proven awareness of disability inclusion and wider global development issues and an understanding of the power of individual stories

Knowledge, skills and experience for Regional Stories and Media Lead WARO

  • Excellent knowledge of national and international media and social media, ideally within international development
  • Extensive experience sourcing and documenting emotive, contributor led stories; managing photography and video documentation projects; developing and delivering communications and content strategies within West Africa
  • Experienced in building strong internal networks and maintaining relationships and communications across teams and countries
  • Professional experience working in a policy or campaigns focussed media role
  • Ability to sell international/development stories to the consumer, national and international media
  • Advocate both internally and externally with stakeholders to showcase how media and PR contribute to achieving organisational objectives
  • Awareness of ethical content; disability inclusion; safeguarding best practice, wider global development issues; understanding of the power of individual stories
  • Experience of training and skills transfer
