To support the Institute’s drive to detect and treat tuberculosis in the country, IHVN is sourcing for a suitably qualified dynamic candidate to fill the position below for the USAID Tuberculosis Local Organization Network (TB-LON) Project:
1.) Adhoc Staff, Clinical Laboratory – Biotech Unit
Location: Abuja
Job Summary
- The Adhoc Clinical Laboratory – Biotech Unit will assist the Biotech Unit in the installation, maintenance, and calibration of Laboratory ancillary equipment in IHVN-supported Laboratories.
- Make daily reports of day-to-day activities at the IHVN equipment calibration centre/workshop and update Laboratory equipment inventory.
Description and objectives
- Under the supervision of the HoU-Biotech and guided by the HoD Laboratory, the Adhoc staff in the Clinical Lab – Biotech Unit will support in routine maintenance of ancillary laboratory equipment in IHVN-supported laboratories.
- The objective is to enhance and reinforce sustainable equipment maintenance, ultimately improving the functionality of equipment in supported facilities and the overall laboratory program.
Responsibilities
- Ability to carry out basic troubleshooting on Laboratory equipment.
- Support Routine maintain of laboratory equipment and the e- inventory.
- Generate Technical report.
- Any other task(s) assigned by the Head of Unit.
Required competencies
- Must be a graduate (BSC, BTech or HND)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

2.) Program Assistant, Clinical Laboratory – Field Operations
Location: Abuja
Education
- B. Sc Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS or AIMLS)
- A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Have at least 2 years’ working experience working in the lab.
- Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary HIV clinical teams for effective service delivery.
- Willingness to travel to clinics and hospitals in assigned geographical areas within the State.
- Previous experience in HIV program implementation, especially laboratory field activities, is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of current trends and normative guidance (national and international) in HIV clinical care and service delivery.
Required competencies:
Core requirements:
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of different backgrounds and in a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Proficiency in Ms. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic to deliver quality work on time.
- High impact influencing and persuasive skills, and able to represent the organization to donors and other stakeholders.

4.) Program Officer, Laboratory – Biotech Unit
Location: Abuja
Required competencies
- Must be a graduate B.Sc, B.Tech or HND in Physic, Engineering, or any related field.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in installations, calibration and maintenance of Laboratory equipment.
- Must have metrology certification.
- NSF biosafety cabinet basic certification will be an added advantage.
- Must be proficient in the use of data analytical software.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or others.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field
- Registered with the health professional council or general nursing council of Nigeria.
- Psychosocial counselling
- Human subject protection and good clinical practice training.
Experience, skills, and competencies:
- Previous experience in coordinating research or healthcare projects, particularly in the field of HIV prevention or key population engagement.
- Strong understanding of digital health technologies and their application in healthcare settings.
- Experience with Microsoft, Excel, Access, MS SQL Server, MySQL, electronic medical record systems, and REDCap
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse communities.
- Knowledge of ethical considerations related to working with key populations and vulnerable communities.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Sensitivity to cultural and social issues impacting key populations in HIV care and prevention.
