Now Hiring! Cabinet Maker / Assembler – Evening Shift

  • Shift: Afternoon Shift – Sunday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 12:00 pm
  • Custom Architectural Millwork Experience required.
  • We are an LMIA approved site; for those seeking sponsorship with demonstrated experience as a Cabinet Maker.

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Makers / Assemblers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling custom wood cabinets and furniture pieces according to specifications, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking, cabinet assembly, and a strong understanding of various tools and techniques used in the industry.

ONBOARDING SCHEDULE:

  • Training will take place Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.; approximately 8-12 weeks.
  • Advanced notice will be provided when moving to the afternoon shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble cabinets, furnishings, and other custom millwork (wood) products using on technical drawings, blueprints, from customer specifications.
  • Measure, and join wood components, ensuring precise dimensions and alignment for each piece.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment such as drills, saws, and sanders to perform tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Sand and finish wood surfaces to prepare for staining, painting, or sealing.
  • Ensure smooth edges and precise cuts to meet aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Inspect work pieces for defects, misalignments, or any imperfections during assembly to ensure high standards of craftsmanship and escalate if necessary.
  • Maintain quality to ensure the finished product meets company standards and customer expectations.
  • Report any material defects or inconsistencies and take corrective action as needed.
  • Work closely with other team members, including project managers, engineering, programming, or other teams to ensure the successful completion of each project.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding job progress, and any issues encountered during assembly.
  • Lifting materials is required.
  • Help ensure that inventory levels are maintained and notify supervisors of material shortages or stock discrepancies.
  • Participate in training or upskilling opportunities as required to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Maintain organization of workstations and materials to ensure efficiency and minimize hazards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Will require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Education, certification and/or training in millwork, wood working or a related field.
  • Proven experience in architectural millwork cabinet making and woodworking.
  • Strong demonstration of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of woodworking tools, machines, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other woodworking equipment.
  • Knowledge of wood finishing techniques, including staining, varnishing, and sealing is an asset
  • Ability to measure and cut accurately, ensuring high-quality assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors during the assembly process.
  • Ability to ensure each piece meets both functional and aesthetic standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort with standing or moving for long periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with plant management, project managers and other team members to achieve project goals.
  • Previous experience working in a custom cabinet or furniture production environment.
