Borno State University is in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. It was established in 2016. It is made up of four Faculties and the College of Health Sciences as follows; Agriculture, Arts and Education, Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, and College of Health Sciences. In addition, it has a Centre for Research & Development and a Center for Kanuri Ajami and Qur’anic Studies.

In accordance with the relevant provisions of the University Laws, the Governing Council of the University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates with requisite qualifications and experience to fill the following positions below:
1.) Vice-Chancellor
Location: Borno
Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants for the post of the Vice-Chancellor should possess the following:
- A Professor of proven track record of scholarship at national and international levels,
- Must have good understanding of the vision and mission of the University,
- Innovative, capable of inspiring advancement of learning and commitment to providing effective leadership,
- Capacity for prudent management of resources, Cognate administrative experience
- Track records that command the respect and loyalty of members of staff and students of Bomo State University,
- Ability to foster the integration of all without discrimination, race, color, ethnicity, gender, religious and other acts of intolerance, Sound moral and unquestionable integrity and probity
- Sound state of health,
- Proficiency in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Ability to generate and attract fund.
Tenure
- The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years only.
Age of Applicants:
- Eligible candidates should not be more than sixty-five (65) years old at the time of assumption of office.
Conditions of Service
Must be as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor in Nigerian Universities.

2.) Bursar
Location: Borno
Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants for the post must possess the following:
- B.Sc. Accounting Degree from a recognized University.
- Have any of the following professional accounting certificates ANAN, ICAN and any other nationally recognized certificates.
- At least Fifteen (15) years post qualification experience, ten (10) of which must be in the Bursary Department of a recognized Institution.
Tenure
- The successful candidate will hold office for a single term of Five (5) years only, effective from the date of appointment.
Age of Applicants:
- Eligible Candidates should not be more than Sixty (60) years of age at the time of assumption of duty.
Conditions of Service
The successful candidate for the post of Bursar shall be placed on a consolidated salary of a Bursar and will be entitled to privileges of a Principal Officer of the University.

3.) University Librarian
Location: Borno
Qualities of the Applicant for the Post
Applicants for the post must possess the following:
- A good First Degree in any subject plus Ph.D Degree in Library Science and Information from a recognized Institution,
- At least fifteen (15) years working experience, ten (10) of which must be in a University.
- A strong evidence of contribution to Library and Information Sciences through research and publications in reputable journals,
- A good knowledge of ICT will be an added advantage.
Tenure
- The successful candidate shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years only beginning from effective date of appointment.
Conditions of Service
The Successful candidate for the post of a University Librarian shall be placed on consolidated salary of the University Librarian and will be entitled to the privileges of Principal Officer of the University.
