Job Overview

A huge part of the role is participating in meaningful activities with the people we support, making this role perfect for someone who lives an active lifestyle. Some of our most common activities can include, but are not limited to, Swimming, Hiking, Cinema, Bowling, Trampolining & Arts and Crafts.
Part of your role is to support a person during significant emotional issues. This can be challenging but also very rewarding. The right person for the role will be calm, confident, and assured to help that person recover in tough moments. On the other hand, it’s equally important that the right person is fun and positive to help improve the emotional well-being of those they support, and get the most from what is an incredibly fun and rewarding role.
Requirements of the role
- Would you make a good mentor for adults with learning disabilities
- Do you have a valid UK Driving licence?

Expected hours: 12, 24, 36, 39 & 42-hour contracts available

What are you looking for in this role?

What do we do?
We provide inclusive, innovative, and caring 24-hour support for people with Autism and learning disabilities aged 16 – 30
Do I need a driving licence?
A UK driving licence is very much preferred for this role, but you DO NOT need your own vehicle. That being said, we could potentially be flexible in this area for the right candidate
Where are we based?
We are based in a shared house in High Lane, just east of Disley. This is a supported living service where 4 people we support live. This is the first service set up by the Hudah group; however, expansion is planned for the future.
What do our Support Workers do?
The key role of a Support Worker is to assist every person to lead an engaging and fulfilled life. We do this by assisting a person wherever they need it, from getting ready in the morning, helping with meals, accessing the community, and participating in meaningful activities.
The people we support are heavily reliant on their support workers to make their worlds work; however, another part of the role is to promote a person’s choice and independence wherever possible
What hour will I work?
Ideally, candidates will have full availability across a 7-day week; however, we can be flexible in this area for the right candidate, particularly for part-time workers and bank staff
