About The Team:
The Office of the Registrar team at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) plays a crucial role in overseeing key academic and student-related services including managing student records, enrolment, and graduation processes, overseeing areas such as student recruitment, research, and international relations and more.
The Opportunity:
The main purpose of this role is to:
- Ensure SRUC fulfils its responsibilities and maintains its status as a Student Sponsor under the Home Office’s UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points Based Immigration (PBI) system.
- Develop and implement SRUC’s policies, procedures and processes for immigration compliance.
- Process international applicants, in conjunction with the Admissions team and SRUC’s partners, ensuring all international applicants meet Home Office regulations.
- Provide specialist immigration advice, guidance and support to international students (and prospective international students).
- Lead the incoming and outgoing student and staff international exchanges and mobilities in line with SRUC’s international strategy.
- Liaise with the Marketing, Digital and Communications team e.g. to create promotional and informational materials aimed at international students.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role you should be qualified to at least SQCF level 9 (e.g. Bachelors/Ordinary Degree), in a relevant area and/or possess proven skills and experience working in a similar role.
You should have proven experience of providing advice and guidance to students and/or supporting student wellbeing (preferably in a tertiary education setting and including international students).
Knowledge of international student-related immigration and recruitment policy and legislation, or an ability and willingness to develop this quickly is essential along with a good understanding of and sensitivity to cross cultural issues.
