Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and nursing homes. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as dementia or hospice care. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you support.

Duties

• Provide personal care and assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Support clients with daily living activities and encourage their independence.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviours.
• Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients.
• Maintain accurate records of client care and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
• Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia care, hospice care, and behaviour management techniques is advantageous.
• Certification in first aid is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as required by client needs.
