Complex Care Assistant – Supporting a client with Cerebral Palsy in the Rossendale Area – Car Driver Essential

Our small teams of Personal Assistants provide bespoke, person-centered care to really make a difference in our clients’ lives. You’ll only be working with one client, which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day.

Duties

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Care/Support Worker to join our dedicated team, supporting a remarkable individual with Cerebral Palsy in the Rossendale area! This is far more than just a job – it’s a chance to make a real difference each day by helping our client live life to the fullest!

Alongside clinical care tasks, you’ll support them in enjoying a range of enriching activities such as hydrotherapy, sensory exploration, and creative crafts. You’ll be part of a friendly, person-centred team where no two days are the same.
(You will be working as part of a small team on a 2:1 basis.)
A full clean driving licence is essential, and you must be able to drive the client’s motability vehicle

Who we are looking for
You must be self-motivated, well organised, reliable, and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:

• Gastronomy care and administration of prescribed feed, fluids, and medication
• Tracheostomy care to facilitate ventilation
• Having a clean, full driving licence is essential (There is the use of a wheelchair accessible vehicle)
• Personal care, including incontinence pad changes and measures to maintain skin integrity
• Moving and Handling (including hoisting)
• Health crisis activity monitoring and administration of rescue medication.
• Domestic duties ( Food prep, laundry, cleaning)
• Support to travel to appointments and participate in social activities, including swimming.
• Monitoring of general health and well-being, daily record keeping as such.

You should also have:

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £13.91 per hour

Expected hours: 16.5 hr/wk

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training, and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Schedule:

• 66 hours over 4 weeks (average of 16.5 hours per week)PA2
• Week 1: Tuesday, 12:30 pm-5 pm, Wednesday, 11:30 am-5 pm, Thursday, 12:30-5 pm (14.5 hours).
• Week 2: Monday, 11:30 am-5:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 9 am-3:30 pm (18.5 Hours).

Work Location: On-site only
